VzLinux is an original Linux distribution and one of the longest running on the market. The reliable base operating system (OS) for OpenVZ (OVZ) virtualization technology has also been the guest OS for Virtuozzo products for more than 20 years. Ideal for the enterprise, VzLinux handles input/output (I/O) intensive workloads with ease. The versatile distro is deployable on a multitude of hypervisor and hyperscale platforms, including VirtualBox and AWS. The virtual machine (VM) runs web applications, Node.js projects, and databases. It features one-to-one binary compatibility with RHEL so software runs smoothly, no matter what VzLinux runs.
Virtuozzo Linux distro is ideal for virtualization and containers usage. This versatile Linux distribution is optimized to run on: cloud with Openstack images, Docker and Podman containers, bare metal servers, and virtual machines (VM). Templates for VzLinux are available on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and Google Cloud. It is available for x86_64 architecture and uses the XFS file system.
VzLinux is the developer OS of choice. Developers use Samba to share files and resources between VzLinux and Windows systems. Users manipulate files from the command line using Bash. GONE desktop is the default graphical user interface (GUI). Python and Perl clients are included. System updates are performed automatically by RPM Package Manager YUM (Yellowdog Updater Modified). It checks dependencies between apps, installs new packages, and uninstalls old ones. VzLinux offers both Linux firewall iptables and nftables. OpenSSH bolsters security by creating secure channels in unsecured networks. No downtime required when you transition to VzLinux from CentOS 8. Create snapshots for recovery and test conversions, before running unsupervised.
