Get it on Azure

openSUSE Linux is a Unix-like operating system for developers and standard users with a community driven effort to keep openSUSE in line with users’ needs.  openSUSE Leap is the ideal workstation and server for stability and reliability compared to other Linux distributions. openSUSE is upstream of and compatible with SUSE Linux Enterprise. openSUSE Leap shares the same source code, binary packages, and enterprise server scalability as SUSE Linux Enterprise. Leap assesses workloads and performs user acceptance testing (UAT) before migrating potential rollback projects.

OpenSUSE architecture includes a monolithic kernel and GNU user space. OpenSUSE deployment is flexible over 32 bit and 64 bit platforms like i686, x86-64, Aarch64, PowerPC and RISC-V. The image file can be installed in physical and virtual machine (VM) types. Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud and Openstack cloud hosting are optimized for use with OpenSUSE Leap.

OpenSUSE supports thousands of open source and free software. Leap 15.3 introduces packages for artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning, and machine learning through ONNX, TensorFlow, and PyTorch. OpenSUSE features Kubernetes and Docker containers. KDE Plasma, GNOME, LibreOffice Firefox, XFCE graphical user interface (GUI) environments, and three package manager software are available for install.
